Internet is down
Now we are in the fun of it. I have cool gifs, but they dont want to upload on my phone. Will update.
I got the characters able to do combat. Deaths are half way handled and i was hoping to spend the next two days making the AI and and some overarching gameplay loop. This outage seriously hinders my progress. It's kind of hard to test network synchronization without a network. I guess I could run it in offline mode or try to mock it, but that seems a bit excessive/innacurate. I will probably work on finishing up shooting/killing eachother, teams and some form of spawn areas tomorrow. I will try to finish out all of the gameplay loop on Friday, and probably spend some of Saturday working on how things look/level building.
I don't think I set my expectations too high, I think I needed more self care than I realized going into this week, and that's alright. I got my workouts in, my meditation back on board, my oil changed, spent time talking with friends. And I still got a ton of work done on my game. I think this is what balance looks like. Maybe I could have squeezed together a better game, or did more work on my other projects. But I'm pretty stoked that I can put up a multiplayer game crammed into a week, even if it isn't the most glamorous.
I wrote so much reusable code with this one. I can't wait to apply it to our game that won't be called lobbit anymore, but flickit. It's gonna be really cool
